Bio

Cross-platform. Passionate. Dedicated.

Cross-platform storytelling is Mick Basa’s expertise. Having been involved in journalism work for nearly a decade, he writes, shoots, films, and edits. His works have been published in various Philippine media outlets, including Rappler, Manila Bulletin, and Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Passionate in telling stories to the world, Mick has engaged himself in teaching courses in communication and English language in Indonesia and the Philippines. By imparting the younger generation his skills, he says the world will never run out of storytellers. He was a part-time lecturer at Ateneo de Davao University and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.

Dedicated to excellence, he not only relies on experience as a means to constantly improve professionally. In 2012, Mick was awarded a fellowship grant to study multimedia journalism at the Konrad Adenauer Asian Centre for Journalism. He believes theory and experience work hand in hand; one informs the other, and vice versa.
